PROJECT “MANUFACTURE OF ENERGY-EFFICIENT CERAMIC TILES ACCORDING TO SUSTAINABILITY CRITERIA, THROUGH THE ADOPTION OF AN INNOVATIVE PROTOCOL OF LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT” SUBMITTED TO THE MINISTRY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO BE WORTH TO THE SUSTAINABLE GROWTH FUND

Start date 01/12/2015 end 30/11/2019 Project presented with partners: Gruppo Ceramiche Gresmalt, Zschimmer & Schwarz Ceramco, Esa Energy, Project Objectives: The final macro-objective of the project is the development and prototyping in industrial scale of a new ceramic product that differs from the current production for the best sustainability performance and for the characteristics of high reflectance to sunlight. This final result was achieved thanks to the contributions of the partners for the development of materials and processes suitable to improve the environmental and energy KPIs of the new ceramic tiles. Overall, all the objectives of the development plan have been achieved. LB has optimized the grinding system with the tubular ball mill, using a mill on load cells and with a grinding process in air vein. A new separator has been designed to prevent the leakage of coarse particles into the finished product. An innovative powder coating system has been designed, used for dry coloring, more efficient than the technology used up to now. Pursuant to Article 1 paragraph 125 of Law no. 124 of 4 August 2017, the company LB Officine Meccaniche Spa received from Medio Credito Centrale following the presentation of the I SAL in 2018 the non-repayable contribution of € 94,800.66 and the facilitated financing of € 363,453,02 for the II SAL, in 2019 the facilitated financing of € 205,152.28 and the non-repayable contribution of € 53,510.56. In February 2020 the third and final SAL was presented and followed by technical-administrative inspection in July 2020: the company is awaiting the payment of the second instalment of non-repayable contributions and facilitated financing following the positive findings of the inspection.
